The Two Legged China Lavatory Sink dates back to the early 1900′s.  Also called the “Console Two Legged Sink” is made of viteous china.  They have a large deck space that allows for toiletries.  Available in a single bowl or double bowl.   When shopping for a Two Legged China Lavatory Sink, be sure that the prices include the legs.  We’ve seen that prices can be lower, but do not include the legs.  These sinks are heavy and ship via motor freight.

The sinks are supplied with mounting brackets that fasten to the wall.  The legs slip into a slot under the sink.  The legs are also made of vitreous china and have wonderful detail.  The faucet hole mountings are drilled for wide spread faucets.

Below you will find some of the Two Legged Sinks that are carried at http://bathandmore.com

Our Clawfoot Tub Shower Rod Enclosures are perfect to have a shower enclosure over your clawfoot tub.  Bathandmore.com has several sizes and different gauges, depending on your application.

Our first is the Rectangular Clawfoot Tub Shower Enclosure.  This rod is made of 3/4″ solid brass tubing and includes a 30″ ceiling support and a 18″ wall support.  What’s nice about these supports is that you can cut them down to the size you need.  Use a hack saw to cut the supports and then reattach the allen screw.  When measuring for the size Clawfoot Tub Shower Rod that you need, we like to suggest the following:  Clawfoot tubs come in different lengths, some 48″, 54″, 60″, 68″ and more.  Figure that you have a standard/classic 60″ tub, the rim of the tub is 3″ and you want the curtain to hang on the inside of the tub.  Take 6″ off the tub length (60″) for the rim and you have an inside dimension of 54″.  Therefore the best Clawfoot Tub Shower Rod for this tub would be a 54″ ring.  We have three sizes available, 42″x 24″, 48″ x 24″ and 54″ x 24″.  These are available in Chrome, Brass and Satin Nickel.  http://www.bathandmore.com/products/Rectangular-Rod.html

Shower Curtains for Clawfoot Tubs

We have been asked how to measure and choose a Oversized Shower Curtain for your shower enclosure.  We’ve come up with this solution:

When measuring for a shower curtain, you want to measure width to go around your shower ring.   If you have an shower ring or enclosure, measure one side from end to end and double this number.  Then measure across and double this number.  An example would be our 54” shower ring is 54” long x 24” wide.  54×2=108” and 2×2=48”  Add the 2, this equals 156” and our curtains are 168” wide which gives a little room.

Our Oversized Shower Curtains are made in the USA and custom made for Affordable Antique Bath & More.  They are made of 8 mil vinyl film.  We carry four colors: white, baby blue, bone and transparent.  The curtains measures 168″ wide x 70″ high and have 28 nickel grommets placed 6″ apart.  Magnets are placed at the bottom to keep the curtain in place.

This built-in protection lasts the life of the fabric and is far superior to topical treatments. Stain Resistant: Most oils, greases, and contaminants may be wiped off with soap, water or mild cleansers. Curtains are easily cleaned in place and maintain a fresh look. Antistatic: Our fabrics are specially formulated with an durable antistatic property. It prevents the build-up or retention of electrostatic charges. Odor Resistant: Our fabrics have been treated to resist bacterial odors. Objectionable organic odors are decreased as a result of the active protection against odor-forming bacterial growth on fabric surfaces. Affordable Antique Bath & More has been carrying quality Cast Iron Clawfoot Tubs since 1996.  The claw-foot tub was considered a luxury item in the late 19th century, originally made from Cast Iron and lined with porcelain.

The Cast Iron Clawfoot Tubs we carry are made of cast iron with porcelain on the inside and painted white on the outsite.  You can have a variety of feet to choose from.  We have the old fashioned ball and claw foot, peg leg or lion’s foot.

Clawfoot tubs come in 5 major styles:

  • Classic Roll Rim, Roll Top, or Flat Rim tubs.
  • Slipper tubs – where one end is raised and sloped creating a more comfortable lounging position, the most popular of our tubs.
  • Double Slipper Tubs – where both ends are raised and sloped, a great two person tub.
  • Double Ended Tubs – where both ends of the tub are rounded. Another great two person tub
  • Pedestal Tub – Pedestal tubs, unlike all the styles listed above, do not have claw feet. The tub rests on a pedestal in what most would term an art deco style. Evidence of pedestal tubs dates back to the Isle of Crete in 1000 BC.

You can find our Cast Iron Clawfoot Tub at Affordable Antique Bath & More, http://www.bathandmore.com/categories/Cast-Iron-Tubs/

Cast Iron Clawfoot Slipper Tub

Welcome to our first blog.

Affordable Antique Bath & More was created in 1996 with our first catalog and internet site, http://bathandmore.com  We have grown to a thriving business that takes pride in our customer service and knowledge of 1900′s – present plumbing fixtures, such as the Pull Chain Toilet.

The Pull Chain Toilet started with an oak or wood tank that was mounted to the wall.  The modern water closet or toilet utilises a cistern to reserve and hold the correct amount of water required to flush the toilet bowl. In earlier toilets, the cistern was located high above the toilet bowl and connected to it by a long pipe. It was necessary to pull a hanging chain connected to a release valve located inside the cistern in order to flush the toilet.

Today you can find wood or china high tanks.  I have designed a custom tank made of old barn rough sawn lumber.  This is a one of a kind Pull Chain Toilet that I couple with brass tubing and a reproduction hump front (1920′s) style toilet bowl.  This is a unique item to add to any old style bath.
